Learning First is a new face powered by a pair of safe, old hands.
It’s an innovative collaboration created to support New Zealand Kura in achieving learning-focused outcomes through proactive learning frameworks and advanced technology utilisation.
Combining the educational PLD expertise of Martin Hughes from 3M Learning with the technical experience of Mike Stodart and his nationwide team from Support IT, Learning First leverages more than 45 years of combined experience to address challenges of low learning outcomes despite ICT investment, unmet diverse learner needs, and the pressure of reduced resources and PLD funding.
Workshop presentation
Presented by Martin, Learning First’s workshop will equip and motivate delegates with free, practical, ready-to-use strategies that ensure our ākonga will succeed faster and our kaiako will be less stressed. This is achieved with radically different ways of teaching, coupled with the smart use of smart tools (including AI). Delegates may quickly realise that they are also achieving many of the goals from other PLD initiatives (eg PB4L, RBL, Literacy programs).
You will leave this workshop with strategies, resources and exemplars that can be used immediately in your school. You will leave this workshop feeling energised, optimistic and even more ambitious for our students and teachers. In addition, you might end up saving your school significant money along the way. Bring your enthusiasm, questions and laptop (not a mobile device, thanks).
